Maximum PC

Hey! I am building a cheap spare PC with a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, 4GB DDR3 and a Nvidia GT 440. It's all parts I managed to snag for really cheap. I saw newegg has Windows Home Server 2011 on sale for $34.99 and I was curious is Windows Home Server 2011 a add on to Windows 7 or is it stand alone where I could get WHS 2011 and run STEAM off of it and use it as an extra gaming PC? Basically could I use WHS 2011 as my main OS on a PC? Without needing another version of Windows already installed. Thanks!

So I can use it as my main OS? I want it so that I can just do the basics. STEAM, UDK, 3DS Max, Audiocity, etc. Yeah or windows 7 or 8 or $100. Yeah I could but this is really small budget I am working with to keep the cost extremely low. I am using it mainly for when friends come to my house so we can do multi on PC. And no my friends don't have nice computers both support DirectX 8.1 and both have a single core 2GHZ Intel. One of them sounds interested in trying UDK (or better known as Unreal Engine 3) and I wanted to be able to work with them on two PC's. And if they hate it then well... My brother might be interested when he is older. So long story short is that I am making a PC for under $100 and that is the cost of windows 7 alone. And you said hacks. Do I need to mod the OS??

Didn't quiet understand your answer. Can I buy the OS, Install it on my HDD and then install STEAM and start gaming immediately? No Mods or Hacks? Also does it support DX11? Would apprciate a answer soon before the sale ends.

Alright! Buying it now then! Heh heh! Yep less than $100! So far almost all the parts are off of Ebay auctions that I won really cheap! So going to newegg and buying the same parts would probably cost more but the specs are.
