Hi Guys,
I just got a student copy of windows 8 via my university though dreamspark and I want to install it on my laptop which has a 120 GB ssd.
I’d like to back up my ssd so if I don't like win 8 I can completely restore it. Sort off like a restore point. However vie ran into some issues and I need help.
Please note I would prefer not taking the VM route because i'm unfamiliar with it and have next to no space available on the ssd.
I've heard there are bootcd i.e. hirens that contain GHOST so i can do this but i don’t have an optical drive so i can’t load it.

What are the issues? Did you already image your drive? If so, with what?

Hut hey, why not just create a dedicated partition for win8 and dual boot both OS's? Seems silly to nix the whole ssd just to experiment with the Mess affectionately known as Metro.

no optical so no bootcds and the ssd is too small to partition for win8
to me it seems 'nixing' the drive is the only way i can do this.
so is there a way to do this? ive heard i can use stuff like trueimage but how would restore the drive if theres no software?
