Has anyone tried to play some older games within the Windows XP Mode for Win7?

I have a few games that I'd like to get playing again (for no real reason) but they don't work in Windows 7 (even with the compatability wizard). In particular, I'm talking about the GTA games (Vice city, San Andreas, and a few others that came out around 2002-2004). These games, by the way, would have been playable on an older PC with either Intel integrated graphics or something like a GeForce 6200 or so, so I would think (at least compared to today's onboard graphics) they should be playable... but what about within a VM?

(Someone told me theoretically you could, if you gave enough resources from the host to the VM... as in memory and hard disk space.... but I've heard both ways on this--yes and no). I know XP Mode isn't intended for game play, but I sort odon't want to buy another PC just to put XP on it...

It works, but not on all games.
I've done it before, but it was a cheaper system, so your results may vary.

Yes, I figured this out after posting the question. Apparently the graphics software drivers that they use isn't suitable for anything....
Is there a way that you can utilize your computer's actual graphics card within the VM (instead of using the pre-configured one that XP Mode installs with...)

The primary reason I am looking into this so much is I have a game that doesn't like UAC, and doesn't really work even when run as an Admin user...

At this point, I'd set up a dual boot.

Virtual PC emulates an S3 Trio, which is a 2D graphics accelerator. So you can't do any 3D acceleration. If the game has a software renderer, then yes, you could run it. If you want to run games that require 3D acceleration, use VirtualBox. It has support for DirectX and OpenGL.
