Have a question about a windows service that is eating my memory alive.
The service in question is the wmpnetworksvc. I know that this is the sharing service for windows 7 but it uses 25% CPU and up 2.5GB of memory. I have a question into MS support but thought I would ask here too.
The question is why does it use some much resources and is there a way to put a cap on it so that it still runs but not use as much resources as it does now.
For no I have the service disabled but I like to stream media to both of my Xboxs'.

Specs just in case.
i5-2500K
4GB 1333 memory
Win7 (up-to-date)
Asus p67 deluxe

Thanks crash! I did look at that article and left a comment on it as well at the bottom under Wiked Spartan thank you for the effort though. I have yet to try this though I can't see it working since I don't have a virus on my computer. This has been a problem since day one for some odd reason. the build is barley 2 months old and seems a bit odd since i didn't have this issue with Vista just Win 7.

Well, keep looking at it. I am sure it has to be something running away with it.

Is a re-install possible?
