Maximum PC

hey guys..

when i first installed win7 (64bit professional), the shutdown is instantenous ( about 10-20 seconds from when you click 'shutdown' into complete system power = off).

But lately its been taking over 2 or 3 minutes ! The harddrive LED just stays on until 2 or 3 minutes, then system power becomes completely = off.

I've tried all those registry settings (something with the *** wait = 0) and also disabled the pagefile thing. In addition for the test, I have also manually closed lots of stuffs from the task manager (now only 42 process running). However, the shutdown remains the same.

Any tips ?

I also have tried going to the TASK MANAGER and to started clicking on "end task" on many process ( usually 49 to 52 process).. down to about 36 process. And when I shutdown, it still takes 3 minutes for the system to become completely OFF.

I use AVG antivirus. MAYBE... the anti-virus was the hold-up on win7 shutdown ! is it ?

yeap it was AVG antivirus.

because even doing END PROCESS on many stuffs on task manager, shutdown still takes 3 minutes. So I've click temporarily-disble on the antivirus, click shutdown, and system powered off in 9 seconds !!!
