Do you have a secret tool you use to remove malware? Forget ComboFix, Malwarebytes, Super AntiSpyware, A-Squared, Spybot, or HiJack this. I am talking about one that most have not heard of. As the king of Malware Removal, here are a few I use. What other tools are in your swiss army knife?

eScan Antivirus Toolkit Utility (MWAV)
Remove Fake Antivirus (1.75) current version

Not everyone is an expert on it here. Hackman, our resident malware specialist would have more ideas but as far as I know, he mainly uses the tools you listed.

What I use (and what my local computer shop uses that I volunteer at) is this: Combofix, TDSSkiller, Super antispyware, Microsoft security essentials and Malware bytres.

At the moment that's exactly the same that I use, with the addition of rkill. May use other things too in specific situations depending on what's going on but those tools should pretty much take care of everything you may run into. If the OP is looking for something no one's heard of, an all in one tool that will do all the different things the above list does, I hope he posts it here so I can use it.

But like superchip says, common sense is probably the most important tool. The tools listed above are just things commons sense needs to do it's job. :)

There are a number of different all-in-one tools that you can use but generally they are all outdated . Basically you want to stick with what I would like to call the core 4.

Malwarebytes
SuperAntiSpyware
Combofix
e-scan (mwave)

Should you determin there is the TDLS 3 or 4 rootkit you'll want to buy a product called RegRun Warrior. Yes I know there is TDSSKiller but it works sometimes and not others.

For those that don't know what rkill does, basically it does not clean malware at all. What it does is try to stop the "known" malware processes that are running to give you a better chance of removing the mallware.

Here is a small tip. When you download Combofix, extract all the files into a folder. You'll see there are a number of individual tools that can be useful. For example, there is a registry file called Exe.reg. This will fix the issue caused by some malware that makes sure that when you open an application nothing is associated wiith. That won't remove the malware but now you can run your applications and not be asked everytime what program do you want to associate to.
