Hello all,

I hear you can install an app that allows you to print "whatever" to PDF files.
Will appreciate a recommendation that meets the usual criteria:
1) free!!!
2) free of bloat / ads / crud / etc!

thx for reading :)

i see it installs a toolbar which can be annoying to remove?

so one should instead do a CMD install such that:

PDFCreator-1_2_0_setup.exe /SILENT /components=\"!toolbar\" /tasks=\"!desktop_icon\" /f /norestart\

Anyone experienced with install of the latest version?

wow, that install method per CMD was for older versions...

Just read to install without toolbar, you need a build a custom INF file for the install... geez....

http://www.pdfforge.org/forum/open-disc ... no-toolbar

I'm assuming the recommendations for the app predate the inclusion of the toolbar it now installs...

You may also want to look at CutePDF Writer.

Works great. I've used it for several years with good results, and it's free. Then replace Adobe reader with Foxit, also free (although they do have a pro version that requires payment)

I use PDF Creator all the time on many machines. I have NEVER had a toolbar installed. Read the thing and don't get click happy. Just don't agree to the toolbar terms and it doesn't get installed.

If you have Microsoft Word 2010, you can save your docs as a .PDF file and you can probably print it accordingly.

I've noticed MS Office Basic 07 can save to PDF as well as Open Office, which is free.

I vote for CutePDF as well. I've used it for years and love it!

Hope this helps.

While it's a great single solution to a single question (CutePDF) , we all need some sort of suite don't we? CutePDF sounds like a great alternate to Adobe or FoxIt readers, why not get a suite that does it for free too? Notepad is cool and all, but only goes so far.

I know, I know...it's beyond the exact question and isn't the exact answer. But feel it's a better answer in the long run. Otherwise, I'm back to free FoxIt which has no ads thus far.
