So let's lay out what was said...
I later removed the hard drive and plugged it in using an external hdd kit (which i have used many times in the past) but can not access the hard drive.
The hard drive DOES show up in Device Manager when plugged in using external kit but can not be viewed in "my computer".
Have you looked in Disk Management and assign it a drive letter if needed?
The problem was that the partitions somehow got corrupt. I was a able to fix it. But a week later the same thing happened. Any suggestions? New hdd?
If you want useful, then I go back to my first question....Have you gone into disk management and assigned it a drive letter if need be?
Certainly if you don't want to take any efforts in that direction, then go buy a new HD (which is clearly the response you're looking for)
