Okay...
I have an HP netbook installed with Win7 and was doing a full system restore to factory cond. Well I closed the lid and it shut down while installing software and it shut itself down... I rebooted it and it gets to a point where it tells me that the system restore will need to be restarted... I hit enter to restart and start tapping F11 to get to the restore menu but it goes back to the same screen tellig me that it did not complete correctly and System Restore will need to be restarted...
Its a netbook so it has NO CD drive to try a boot disc...
Any suggestions?? I KNOW the restore partition is still in tact... I just cannot get it to load back to a desktop OR a restore menu...

Thanks guys...
Wes~

Noone have any ideas here???
I have contacted HP... They had me do a Hard Rest.. (Remove battery, unplug AC supply, unplug ALL other devices installed and hold the power button for 15seconds) and then try to re-boot....
Did the same thing...
So they have me doing a harddrive test through BIOS... So far so good....
I have an external HD... Cant I go into the BIOS and put the first boot device as a USB drive and make the external HD a boot disk and get in and do something that way???
I have a feeling HP is going to want me to mail it to them for repair.. really dont wanna do that.. It was my older brothers.. he passed away Aug 1st this year and now his 8yr old daughter uses it... I dont know what I wo0uld do if something happened to it on delivery, or it got lost....
ANYONE???

Thanks in advance!
Wes~

Okay, so the netbook is running Win 7 Starter...
I have a disk image of the regular partiton as well as the restore partition.... How do I go about using the image of the restore partition to restore the netbook??
I really thought I would get a few replies... Has to be something simple that will get it going... WITHOUT having to send it to HP...

*****UPDATE:
HP is sending me Win7 Starter recovery CD's.... Thing is, this is a netbook so it has no Disc drive....
So is there a way to copy the CD's to an external USB HD and use the restore off the external HD??? Or will i HAVE to get an external disc drive to get it going?

Thanks guys!
Wes~

Is it a recovery CD or just a CD with the operating system and separate drivers? If it is just the operating system, it is possible, but if it is just a recovery cd, then you will need an external optical drive.
