Has there been any more word on when this will become available? I will really be looking into replacing my 2004 Dell soon. And this just looks sexy now.

Last quarter of the year for the mobile i7 is what Intel is saying...there were some reports of it being delayed to run out the supply of Core2 mobile chips, but I don't know if that can be right...but you never know.

Given the performance increase of a i7 chip over anything else, I think it would be worth the wait. I know I'm looking forward to getting one in 2010 as in video editing, the rendering takes forever...it's getting better, but it's surely not in real time yet!

That said, there's a company in Europe who makes a Core i7 laptop ... Eurocom. I don't know if it's available in the US.

Worth checking out, I would guess, but I'll bet it's battery life is around 15 minutes...check out the fans in the bottom of the case!

Yeah, last Q of'09 is what was said in this older thread. Too bad, I am really fiending for an upgraded laptop.

Eurocom is actually a Canadian company that also sells to the US market.

Their prices are usually the highest among the Clevo laptop resellers. But they allow you to buy specific parts separately (however, 40% over retail), not something any of the other resellers do.
