My MotoQ went, replacement came the other day.
I've found the folder in Windows for the text messages and have backed it up, transferred it to the new phone. I'm not able to see the text messages when I open the folder, but if I look in the Windows system folder, they are all there.

My guess is there is a hidden folder that also needs to be copied. Does anyone know which one it is and where it's located?

Thanks, I have over 4,000 texts and don't want to lose them all.

I've been looking at the Q since I'm due for my Verizon 2-year phone upgrade. How do you like it?

I found this, maybe it will work for you:

I have had a Q for two years now. It was a great phone that I enthusiastically recommended to friends. About a month ago, it started wigging out a bit. Random lockups, changes in ring volume, but the worst is the charging. I plug it in and the indicator shows it is charging. I walk away and come back and find it has stopped charging and the battery is almost dead. Aside from this recent behavior, it was great.

I am looking at getting the LG Dare or the HTC Touch (Verizon XV6900) this time around.
