I did this and it works great!

If you have a smartphone sporting Bluetooth you can do this. Just set up a bluetooth activesync connection to your phone, then go into internet explorer options and change your default connection from "WAP" to "Any connection".
Then, provided that your phone is in sync with your computer, you get free internet on it (like if you're at home or something)

I'm using the Audiovox SMT5600 , I think it's a really sweet phone though the joystick is a little bit of an annoyance. Especially for games.

Additionally I got an IM client called Agile Messenger (because AIM doesn't support my phone). this is an all-in-one chat client (includes AIM) and I can send IMs from my phone for free when I'm at home, if i should ever want to....

Does it use up your phone minutes using the Internet? or do you have to pay extra or something?

Really? Thats pretty awesome. However, with bluetooth, I thought the range limit was 10 or so feet.

On all the bluetooth stuff I looked at it said the range was more or less 30 feet.

ah... my experience with my Bluetooth headset I have for my phone has been about 10 feet. That could also just be the range of the headset alone, not necessarily the Bluetooth capabilities itself.
