Well I'm getting a laptop for school. I'm looking for a portable laptop, so I'm not really interested in any 17" desktop replacements. Any 15.4" or lower would be fine. I will be doing basic mobile computing tasks along with programming, DVD movies, and some gaming on the side. I've found an intriguing ASUS model, the M50VM-B2
. I've found what looks to be a nice deal on NewEgg
, but I'm concerned with the warranty plans with NewEgg and was inquiring what others' experiences were with it.
I've been used to purchasing laptops at the brick and mortar stores for a while now. An investment as important as this laptop, I'd like great coverage on it. The fact they would ship me a box to ship (somewhere) to get fixed, just seems foreign to me. (or I'm in an old mindset)
So does this seem like a good value? I've never owned an ASUS laptop, so any user experience is much appreciated. Also if anyone can express their opinion on NewEgg's warranty/repair plans would help me out a great deal.
