2008 guide to laptop

Does anyone else think that the EEE PC is overrated? Sure it may be small but the performance just isn't there, so much more could have been done.

No they are not over-rated, they were designed to go on the internet, e-mail and office apps. They do that well. They are not meant to play games on but to use to learn on for third world countries. The original lappies were 200 bucks with Linux as an operating system.

Nasty

i plan on getting the cheapest eee pc and a 16gb SD card for a "harddrive" just enough to dump the pictures off my camera when im away from home, and cheap enough that if it dies, who cares? ill buy another.. plus they're TINY and have enough features to keep me interested. Maybe ill buy the HP version... but its a few bucks too much. on the other hand, i could buy an 8gb microSD card for my camera and screw the laptop, the camera isn't gunna break :P
