Anyone have a suggestion for a reliable alternative to purchasing replacement batteries from Dell?

My wife has an e1505 and they want to charge $139 bucks for a replacement 6cell that everyone has dogged on their site with 1.5 star reviews because it dies in 14 months.

I started to google 'dell replacement batteries' and it looks like everyone under the sun sells them, so I'm wondering if someone has any advice on who to buy them from (including dell if the others all suck).

Thanks

I really don't know of any reputable 3rd party battery companies, only because most of them sell non-OEM units made from cheaper Chinese LI-Ion cells which don't last very long because they almost always skimp on the charging circuits.

Unfortunately it sounds like Dell is probably using the same parts, so you may not have a choice, but I'll keep my eye out for you.

I've had very good luck going through Amazon.com. Check it out here. Some even have reviews. I went through Techfuel for my mom's Inspiron 5100 battery and it has worked quite well for the last 14 months. But I finally got her in the habit of taking the battery out after it was fully charged and only putting it in the computer when she needed to be disconnected from the wall outlet. This practice alone makes laptop batteries last twice as long as usual.

Hello. A few weeks ago I was having the same issue with my Dell. I was able to purchase a *CENSORED* battery from somebody on eBay (after looking at some other brands). It ended up costing about me about 65 after the shipping, but it's a lot better than paying what Dell wants right now.

I hope this helps :)
