Does the ladies case have any merit?
Yes, Apple never should have cut the price and discontinued a Model so soon. 25%  25%  [ 2 ]
No, you pay a price by always being a early adopter. 75%  75%  [ 6 ]

A New York woman has sued Apple for 1 million dollars claiming price discrimination. You can read the news report here

I think this is just another get rich quick scheme. As a early adopter you pay a price. Heck when i bought my PS3 it wasn't a month later they slashed its price, discontinued the 499 version and released a 80gig version. I guess i should have sued Sony for that. Maybe it isn't to late![/url]

I'd say she has a better case with the unfair business practices between Apple and AT&T.

Screw her, and may the judge slap the filing attorney with the court costs.
Good explanation of the Robinson-Patman Act:
http://www.imakenews.com/strategicprici ... ?x=b11,0,w

Problems I see (me != lawyer, but...)
- the iPhone is unique. There is no comparable product.
- 'exclusive' phones (that is, carrier A gets phone for first 12, 18 months after launch) are nowhere near new. This has been going on for how long?
(Also, this is not covered in Robinson-Patman.)
-Robison-Patman was (as far as I know/can tell) enacted mainly to prevent underpricing (that is, intentionally selling at/below cost to drive a smaller competitor out of business.) This fits that how?

Grrr.

So, the people that bought Quads earlier this year @ ~$500 should sue Intel over this summer's price cuts, too? (Just an example...)

Two words for her:
Grow up!!

I really do hope the judge does what cup says, dismisses and charges her the court costs too. And the costs of the defense on the other side, should there be any.

That lady is an idiot.
