Gaming. Laptop. NO!

Without a docking station I wouldn't even consider it.

Bah

Port Replicators and Docking Stations went out of style at the turn of the Millennia.

docks are only if you have an ultra slim laptop and you need the extra connectors. if your working at your desk or something and you wont to work on a monirot then you use a dock, but other then that no. now laptop coolers that are sorta like docks....those are mad coooool. no pun intended.

Every laptop I've ever seen, with an exception of the iBook, had either a VGA connector in the back, or a DVI connector. So I still see no need for a Port Replicator or a Docking Station.

It doesn't HAVE to be a docking station, just somewhere you plug in a seperete
-monitor
-keyboard
-mouse

For gaming. laptops are slow as hell otherwise.

That's a Port Replicator.

The only problem is that laptop manufacturers aren't making the replicator ports on the back of the laptops anymore. And the external USB1.1/USB2.0 port replicators don't carry video signals.

well my grandfather has a super slim sony that wouldnt fit a DVI so it came with a dock if he wanted to use it w/ monitor. i'm not sure about other laptops, all the ones in my household have the standard array of connections and i've never used a dock. but i know my grandfather does.

Whatever, as long as I don't have to use those fsking stubby little keys and that menstral pad for a mouse. I also prefer large screens for my gaming.

That's the same route that Apple took with their tiny iBooks. I'll have to add that to my list of laptops without VGA or DVI.

I hate all touchpads and joystick eraser thingys. There's ALWAYS a mouse in my laptop bag, and if I forget, I'll even use one of those goddamn one button round iMac mice before using the touchpad.

Brief writeup:
http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=41605

Overview. I would call it a review, but it is more like an examination, and it's from a resller, but great pics, details, performance specs, and this is an HONEST reseller that I trust. PCTorque is one of the better resellers IMHO, and they've done a great job of running this website in an unbiased fashion and taking good care of their customers. :

I have been waiting for this beast to be released for a while, been champing at the bit for the least 2 months. Time to package up my oldest comp, sell it, and get this thing. Merry Christmas to me!

BTW, the powerbrick for this thing weighs almost 2.5 pounds by itself! I can cancel my gym membership!

I'm still waiting on Intel to produce a 64-bit Dual Core Prescott EE to dump into that beast.

Any other chip doesn't seem to do it justice.

I'll probably end up going through Pro-Star again, I've already got an account with them.

Their are only two things that piss me off about the D900T.

1. Only 1 Cardbus slot, and it's only 16-Bit PCMCIA and 32-Bit Cardbus compatible, no ExpressCard support.

2. No Firewire 800, however if the two built in Firewire ports have their own seperate controllers, then bonus points to them.
