I have used both palm and pcoket pc devices to read books. Matter of fact, that is my main method of reading books anymore, since I travel and hauling books is a pain. I really don't pdf format though, the readers kind of suck, at least adobe's pocket pdf reader does. No bookmarks, won't remember the last page I was at, relatively huge reader program, clunky interface, I didn't like it. I've tried a few other readers, but the one I always came back to was MobiPocket
. It's a great reader utility, and you can download news and stuff with it if you like. It works with either palm or pocketpc. They have ebooks they sell on their site, and the reader uses palm-type .prc files, but there are great tools out there for converting any format there is, so your not limited by any means. There are text converters for just about any format you might have your files in, but for .pdf files I just send it to text, then use MakedocW
to create the .prc file. Maybe some out there has a better method, but that one works very well for me, creating very small files for a program I like.
