I don't know if I should put this here or in the overclocking board but whatever.

So my roommate and I overclocked the go6800 videocard in his Inspiron 9300 to 360 GPU / 730 Memory. Even after a couple hours of BF2 and EQ2 the temperature never once got over 62C. We got it even higher (375/750) without the temperature rising much more but he wanted to play it safe an roll it back a bit. The performance difference was amazing. Before overclocking, his system (1.6 PM, 1GHZ 533 DDR2) scored 45,000 in aquamark. After overclocking the videocard he scored 55,500!

My home built desktop with a 2.8 prescott, 1Gb 400MHz DDR, and 6600GT OC card (525/1050) scores 52,000 with no overclocking. When I overclock the CPU to 3.08 and the videocard to 565/1125 it only puts me up to about 54,500. I know those Pentium Ms are powerfull for single applications, and he does have faster memory (533 vs my 400) so I suppose that could be a factor. Without overclocking either card, my GPU score was a good bit higher but his CPU score was about 15% higher than mine. After overclocking both videocards my GPU score was negligably higher then his.

I guess I don't really have a point, just kind throwing some information out there. Has anyone else had any experience doing this? Anything I should keep in mind?

Imagine if he had sprung for one of the 1.8Ghz Pentium M chips, or even a 2Ghz one :D
