I need to buy a new PDA and thought I may as well get one that plays movies if such a beast exists yet. Is there a good combi PDA/Media Player on the market?

Check out the Palm Lifedrive. It's a Palm designed for multimedia, even comes with a 4GB HDD in it.

Palm... lol. When it comes to multimedia it cant touch a decent PocketPC with a VGA screen... like the Dell Axim X50v.

I had a Sony with Palm OS and the sync software was absolute crap. I wasted more time trying to get them to sync properly than using the damn thing. Palm is not an option. My HP with Mobile Windows synced flawlessly. Unfortunately, I managed to crack the screen. :(

I have a Sony Clie on Palm OS and if/when I buy another PDA, I will definently be going for a windows based one. The Dell X50v has the first graphics accelerator in a device of it's kind. It enables about 30fps video playback. I would highly reccomend checking that out. Palms suck media wise. If you can do without the PDA part seeing as they have limited storage for movies and music, I would reccommend the Archos media player or you the Iriver H320 or H340. I have an H340 and I currently have 13 movies plus about 15 other general clips and I have about 30gigs left on the HD. Plus, it is a piece of cake to get video on it. No screwing around with converting and all, you just pop a dvd in or verify a file and click convert with the "iriverter" software. Check it out.

I'd get a Dell Axim x50v with the new OS Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0.
