Came across a very inexpensive air card and I am considering getting one for the times I need data access and there's no wi-fi around. My question is very basic: If the device is unlocked, will it use any SIM card that includes a data plan or does it require one specific to a pay-per-use plan? More specifically, I have an AT&T phone with a modest data plan (Blackberry, largely useless as a connected device). I'd be interested in popping its SIM into an air card (Sierra USBConnect 308 is the cheap one) if the Sierra will use the plan info off the SIM. But I'm not interested in purchasing a separate plan for the air card. Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but SIM cards are usually linked to their device. I know this for certain on Tracphones, Net 10, and Virgin Mobile phones, but am not entirely sure about cards from major carriers.
