Maximum PC

Hi,

I am running "windows 7 enterprise 64 bit SP1" on a "Dell precision m4300" (new install) and the laptop is boiling hot

It seams the fan is not running at all.

I don't think this is a hardware issue; I have sprayed compressed air (without opening the laptop) to clean up the fan.

Also, before installing W7 (from scratch), I had WXP 32 SP3 installed on that same machine and the fan was working just fine.

I heard about a software called "i9kfan" that might help me but could not find anywhere a download link.

I am not sure what the problem might be (BIOS, Hardware, Software...)

Sorry if I am not on the right forum...

The only yhing I know is that if I do not find a solution quickly, my laptop will fry ...

The fan could very well have failed or its connector could have come loose.

Also, from what I've heard, spraying compressed air into the fan is very bad for it.
