What would be the performance increase from the 2.66 to 3.33 upgrading to the extreme?

Not much for gaming, but moderately faster for encoding.

Prostar cash price $3,839

Sager cash price $3,983

Prostar comes with Win7, Sager comes with Vista and an upgrade to Win7. Prostar seems like the better choice. Does anyone besides Flytrap have any experience with them?

I hear Source games are more CPU bound. They might get a nice increase on top of the 280m. As for multitasking you can pretty much throw anything at it and it will get done pretty quick. Rip a DVD, encode music while encoding a movie, watching a movie all while playing a game. Not reasonable but you can do it.

If I had bought one now, I would have sprang for the 12GB of RAM (RAM prices are half of what they were when I ordered mine) and the Blu-Ray burner (not an option when I bought mine).

Gah, it's been a while. Life is way too hectic. LOL, I've had this laptop for about 3 months and only used it a handfull of times. I did get Dragon Age: Origins for Christmas though. It's installed, but not even launched yet! Haven't even played WoW for 2 months.

Ungodly work schedule on a US Navy Destroyer + a preggo wife + a cat and dog + an active 2 year old can really wear you out. All I can hope for is a slower new year.

And I swear I'll take some pics!
