Location: watching the cameras in your room
hay what would be some good certs to have for a basic computer job and wear would i get them? Are there any age restrictions for them?

I would go with an A+ certification to start off with.

A+, N+ and MSDST (Microsoft Desktop Support Technician). The latter covers everything from DNS, DHCP, permissions, rights, up to troubleshooting applications, printers and the OS (right now there is an XP only cert, but Vista is scheduled to release soon).

kool how would i go about getting the certs and do they ever expire? Is there an age requirement?

A+ and N+ do not expire. The DST will be "retired" when Windows XP is retired, as the Vista cert is out now. The DST is just like the MCSE/MCSA, you have to renew to keep it valid when a new OS releases. The XP cert will still be valid probably until the end of this year, if not until end of next.
