Hey everyone, I'm just getting into photography (as a hobby) and I've got the absolute basics down pat (to the point that I use the manual mode 50% of the time). I'm already a happy subscriber to Popular Photography and PC Photo, but sometimes they reference things that are a little over my head. Can anyone recommend some good photography books (tips/techniques/choosing the right lens/getting the shot/manual settings) that will give me a good reference? Maybe a pro photographer sharing own experiences? I've already been to Amazon and those types of books are a dime a dozen. I own a Digital Rebel XTi with the standard kit lens.

I don't know how many photographers surf these forums, but any help is appreciated.

This is the best 50$ you'll ever spend on photography learning: http://www.123di.com/default.htm

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely check out the book by Boyd Norton.
