Truth is...There isn't a very good written study guide for the 290 and 293 exams and that's unfortunate but there are some alternatives.
What you can do is research the topics covered on technet or by simply using the help and support field on a server 2003 operating system.
note: You will receive an eval copy of Enterprise upon purchasing the
70-291 or 70-294 from MS Press so learn by installng, breaking and fixing.
For the 290 you are out of luck because they are all lacking in one area or another. As an alternative you should order the video training from www.cbtnuggets.com
. James Conrad is an excellent instructor and does not bore you with drab material.
Books written by Craig Zacker (MS Press) are a big waste of money!!! Don't buy the 290 and 293 training kits from MSPress. This author has had many terrible reviews.
The 291 and 294 training kit are both good books and the only ones out of the set that I would recommend purchasing.
Secret Bonus: The best book that you can find for the 293 and 294 is this book below.

As many will say the same, you should NOT rely on books alone to pass the exams. The MCSE is heavily weighted on experience.
