I'd thought I'd just share this because it's important: (As because I'm an aspring Computer Information Systems Major [haven't decided specialty])

If you plan on "studying about computers," in college for a lack of a better phrase. You need to know which "area" your going to.

If your planning to do "Computer Science," it is a field heavily based on math.

If your planning to do "Computer Information Systems," its a field heavily based on business.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prerequisite wise: Both areas are similiar in the beginning but seperate as you go further into the field.

With Computer science you'll be working more in the areas of: algorithm analysis/design, abstract data types, linked lists, stacks, queues, sets, trees, and search trees.

With Computer Information Systems you'll be working more in the areas of microcomputer applications.

Just like most Computer Saavy people would say,"Software cannot operate without hardware; without software, computer hardware can perform no useful function."

I hope this helps...

The only way I would want to work with computers is to have a job making new systems. I dont do this because it only pays probaly $12 bucks an hour. All of that other stuff never really interested me.
