Is there any chance of getting a job with these certifications? I notice that employer tend to be dismissive of education nowadays.
Is there value in MCSA certification?
Uhm, which employers are dismissive of education? Landscaping employers? Sanitation employers?
ok, after my sacarstic response here is the real one:
Job opportunities with certifications:
It depends on what you want to do and the region you live in.
If you have a local community college, go to their career resource center. Community colleges are usually plugged into what local businesses are looking for. I personally feel that will be your greatest resource for information
I personally do not give much weight to certifications. But that is due to my experience with interviewing many candidates with an array of certifications on their resume. But when I sit them at a remote desktop and ask them ssh/telnet into a test server and instruct them to perfom basic administration, 9/10 fail.
Other companies require a degree and/or certification.
I require a degree at a minimum.
To get a broadbased feel for the market:
Select Information Technology
Select your region(s)
Then in the keyword: type of certification
Here I did a search for my region (DC area) and entered MCSA:
