I was googling for some practice tests for the network+ exam and was wondering if anyone has any experience purchasing any of these (and from where) and if anyone has any recommendations.

Thanks,
Josh

Can't help with the question, but worth mentioning...

I've tried a few of the 'free' tests. They vary WIDELY in difficulty and content.

Sorry if I clouded instead of clarified. Let's just say I'm really interested in any answers you get.

I am not sure if this will help, however I have also taken some free practice test exams for A+ N+ exams. They were rather difficult... Passitnow.com is a good place to go for COMPTiA exams..

I just took the OS and Core exams for A+ last year and passed them both. With that cert under my belt, I decided to go for the Network+. Problem was that CompTIA changed the test after I had studied over four hundred questions from the old test format. Now I have the new testing format practice questions with 853 questions total. The site I got them from is a pay site, but it's a lifetime membership fee and the resource is updated weekly. The site is actualtests.com and charges $99 for a lifetime membership and you can download any practice test for literally dozens of certs from CompTIA, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, etc. A lot of folks on cert forums call this site a "braindump", why I don't know. It includes a study guide to take you through all the material then the practice test to get you ready. Check out the site and see what you think. If you're going to move up from A+ to any other certs, the lifetime fee is well worth it. Good luck with those exams. I take mine in July :(

Is there any chance of getting a job with these certifications? I notice that employer tend to be dismissive of education nowadays.

Is there value in MCSA certification?

Uhm, which employers are dismissive of education? Landscaping employers? Sanitation employers?

ok, after my sacarstic response here is the real one:

Job opportunities with certifications:
It depends on what you want to do and the region you live in.

If you have a local community college, go to their career resource center. Community colleges are usually plugged into what local businesses are looking for. I personally feel that will be your greatest resource for information

I personally do not give much weight to certifications. But that is due to my experience with interviewing many candidates with an array of certifications on their resume. But when I sit them at a remote desktop and ask them ssh/telnet into a test server and instruct them to perfom basic administration, 9/10 fail.
Other companies require a degree and/or certification.
I require a degree at a minimum.

To get a broadbased feel for the market:
www.monster.com
Select Information Technology
Select your region(s)
Click Search
Then in the keyword: type of certification

Here I did a search for my region (DC area) and entered MCSA:

I just passed the Novell CNA using a lot of the free questions over here:

http://www.braindumpcentral.com/

They've got most of the CompTIA exam questions, MS, Novel, Cisco, etc
