Anyone know of a good "Driver Update Program". I bought Driver Genius 8 months ago 12.0 Now they have version 14 and want $199. I see something fishy here.

The only driver you should routinely update is the GPU driver, and that's if you care about gaming. Otherwise there's really no need to update drivers. Well, unless it's to fix a security/stability issue, but almost all the time of the time nothing really updates except the GPU.

I've used SlimDrivers. When I've had drivers be very out of date the new ones sometimes have new features, usually accompanied by new processes running, yay. Anyways, not really the right forum for this topic. Help Desk would be better.

>>Who's the genius, Bob?<<
That be you!
Bob

I might try. Probably. Yea I will. It will be dependent and how it reacts with the drivers that Asus, website, says I need

>>SlimDrivers<<
I will take a look at it. But based on other replies I need to take it easy with drivers. But since I am completely rebuilding my system. This is they most perfect place to make sure the drivers are up-to-date. And I found that, for my motherboard, I can go to Asus and get the drivers I require, based on my P8Z77-V Deluxe.

The biggest reason that I probably will not go back to "Driver Genius"
1. It's always uncertain as to what update is needed, the actual driver program
2. When you try to find the updates for "Drier Genious" I don't feel confident with the vendor.
3. I always prefer to buy from the developer. Yes I know everybody sells through vendors. But in the case of this product. I always get the feeling something is missing. Yes it works good but..
