I had not read that one, but it's a nice look at it indeed! I had read about the manufactures being able to "fix" Intel's OC lock fairly easily in the BIOS.

The NB voltage is another angle I haven't read about! Too bad that they couldn't get this to work with the Asus' GT, as that is what I had planned on getting. If ATI's x800's don't have this problem, then I may flip my decision once again. I bet it's in the PCIE lockdown though and not nVidia or ATI's problem really.

Still...a 3.8Ghz P4550 doesn't sound that bad! But a if they got a stable 260MHz on intigrated graphics, I wouldn't mind running it like that just to have some bragging rights. Do the math! 4.4Ghz???

I'm interested in how the x800 fares as well, but I'd much rather see a cure (BIOS update) then a workaround (use a more tolerable vid card). As I said in a different post, I can't imagine they won't tackle this.

It just sounds that with the heat issue aside, these things are starting to rock-n-roll! The OC'd units are running at 140F, but with water, who gives a rats ass? I've also been reading quite a bit and from the sounds of things, they are pretty tough when it comes to high vCore and temps. I can't wait to see what this 3.4Ghz 550 can do!

Hmmm...and the 2.8 (520) they tested is under $200 at newegg!

Nice find on the article! I'll still gripe about the heat, water cooling and within specs be damned. However, you can't argue w/ the results and if it runs stable, then so be it. My next rig will be anything but an easy decision.

Man, it gets better everyday...

YES! Another 775 owner! Glad to have ya I'm not totally stoked about the new form as a hole, but it's got a LOT of promise.

Yes...the cooler aspect is pretty dismal:p I've found that, with a lot of work, you could get a TDX to touch the heatspreader. The holes are either a little off from the Abit IC7 Max3 compared to the AA8, or I just had a hard time playing with it.

775 is still better than my last system ( P3 1Ghz) I had a better laptop but it broke but now i get an exuse to upgrade!!!!

Danger Den is now selling the Socket 775 lucite tops for the RBX's and TDX's. If you want the block (and they ARE pretty damned good), just state in your order that you need the 775 top instead of the standard 478 piece. But they're $11 if you already have a TDX or RBX unit. I'll see if I can post the block on the 775 when it shows up. They're reportedly flooded at the moment with orders. I'm sure I'm low on their list for an $11 item.
