I have a dumb idea...and tell me if its possible...if u were able
to Super Glue a 80mm fan on the top of the fan on a video card...
would it lower the heat enough to maybe get more for overclocking?
Ive seen 40-60mm fans...maybe better?

I've seen 80mm fans on top of large heatsinks on video cards, basically a moderate CPU heatsink/fan combo. I've also seen rather large heatsinks on the memory chips with fans on them on video cards. Combine them and you can get some very impressive numbers from the video card if done properly.

While certainly not conventional, I would venture to say it's possible. I would not expect stellar results though.

For a budgeted solution (which it sounds like you're after), I would put more emphasis on the RAM chips with heatsinks. If budget is not a concern, I'd look at dedicated video card coolers:

well to be honest it wouldnt go on a budget card or anything budget...i would love to try putting it on a 6800 to be honest. What i would do is probaly use a 60mm and put it right over the exsisting fan...i just think it would be interesting thats all.

More than likely that would kill one of the fans...you would be creating extra air pressure that isnt intended to be on that fan.

Zalman has one like that. it is the huge passive video card one with an optional fan

i usually hear that those things are pretty cheap...they are loud and crap out after only a short while...at least that is what i have heard...never used one myself

I still love the OTES units that Abit releases now and then. It's a great idea IMO. I don't know why anyone bitches about using two PCI slots outside of SFF builders.

I have 6 PCI slots and seldom use more than two (and with dual gigabit ports being released on-board, I highly doubt that I'll use more than one in the future)

Let's see...Soundcard and NIC card. What else do we need that makes one of those slots so important?

Funny, I have one in 2 of my systems and have had the fans for over 2 years now and they still work. It isn't all that loud when running on 7V either:P Possibly running them on 7V is what has kept them alive though, who knows. I never heard about them crapping out often though.

Yeah, I read the reviews on it on Newegg, and people really liked them. So, that was one of the main reasons I bought one.

Mine's been running for over a month now, it's pretty quiet too. Thing puts out a decent amount of air.
