 Post subject: What effect does changing AGP ratio have?

My AGP ratio is set at 6:2:1. What effect would setting it at 7:2:1 or 8:2:1 have?

AMD 3500+
1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200
Abit AV8
Radeon 9700 Pro
Audigy 2 Platinum

FSB:AGP:PCI

it would probably change your cpu's fsb or something like that.

Assuming you kept the FSB the same, it would slow down your PCI and AGP bus speeds.

6:2:1 = 200:66:33
7:2:1 = 233:66:33
8:2:1 = 266:66:33

if you mess with AGP or PCI busses, you may screw things up.

or make it better. Kind of a wide spectrum we got here. If he wants to up the FSB and it's borking at some point, then he'll have to adjust that ratio to lower the AGP and PCI buss back down closer to 66/33Mhz.
