I have a Biostar G31-M7 TE motherboard that I want to upgrade to a 64-bit system. The board specs indicate that it will work as either a 32-bit or a 64-bit system. It uses socket 775 CPU's. (I'm reusing the board for financial reasons!) If this is true, do I need to simply swap out the CPU, or do I need to swap out the memory as well? Also, can you give me an example or two of which type of CPU is which, and perhaps the memory as well? Thanks in advance!

You just install a 64-bit operating system. The only bummer is if there are no 64-bit drivers.

This is assuming you have a 64-bit capable processor. If you have a Core 2 processor, you're fine.

yup thats all it takes, a 64bit operating system, most cpus are 64 bit as are the motherboards, both my son and I still run on a socket 775 with 64bit OS, me with vista, him with win 7. memory does not matter. any quad core or E series dual core should work just fine.
