Maximum PC

Hi

Looking for peoples opinion on a video card. At a computer store that I worked at and still friends with the had a radeon 4850 traded in for about $50 Canadian. It would cost me about $55. I don't do a lot of heavy gaming, my son plays wow which is probably the most intensive game right now. i am wondering and looking peoples thoughts and opinions on whether to buy the 4850 or to spend another $60 or so and get something else. and what would people recommend.

I do not think its that good a deal, since they are not made anymore. Tiger direct has them new for 60 dollars american, that to me makes it way to expensive for a used card.

I'm with the ranger here. There's nothing wrong with used gear, but the price isn't all that great. Should be able to find a used 5770 (or so) for reasonably close to the same price. You'd be a little more up to date with DX11 support.

I agree with the consesus. The card is a pretty decent card, but not at that price. Best to look upward to perhaps an HD5770 which are decently priced these days.
