Maximum PC

Does anyone have any experience with overclocking this chip? I can find lots of info on the "x" version, not so much on the the regular 980.

Is there a resource perhaps, that someone could point me to?

Do you know how that "chip" works? If so...it's easy from there on. It's all in the BIOS.

If you don't know how it all works, then you need to understand it before overclocking it. Not being an 455, but do you know what Bclock is, or what do in there? There is no "just add water" solution here. You must learn to OC.

I know how it works, that's not what I asked.

I am just trying to compare notes. If you don't have the experience with this chip or know of specific resources for it, then the question I already asked does not apply to you.

Wow! That's a pretty douchey response to a valid point made by a respected member of this forum! I think what Chumly is trying to get at is with this chip, you need to understand the architecture in order to efficiently overclock it. DO you know what the bclock is? Uncore? QPI? RAM dividers? ALL these things come into play when overclocking Core iX series hardware. It's NOT like the old FSB days where you just crank the FSB until it pukes... If you find info on the 980x, then you have the info on the 980 (same chip, just locked multiplier). Good luck!
