So after 3 weeks of waiting for my liquid cooling supplys to get here, Today i finally had everything I needed to water cool my computer and video card.

long story short, I put the water block (koolance)on my gtx 470, and when i went to power on the computer there was nothing...however unplug the last 6 pin connector and then the computer would turn on, but display nothing from that video card...

I threw the stock cooler back on and its working fine again....why does the water block kill the card? I shaved the thermal pads down to the exact size of the raised/lowered parts on the block, took it all apart and put back together to have it still not work....

very frustrating to drop 300ish to get rid of the noisy fan only to have the card not even function with it.....

Sounds like there's a short somewhere to me. I would double-check that there's no contact between the PCB and the water block.

Lucky you got yours running again. I still cant get mine to work after I tried the water block, even with the stock cooler on.
