Yeah, 85F is a bit warm in there. Especially since it's December. Even Houston has a winter...
Here's what I did to cool my, ah, data center (which comprises, at that time, a WHS, a Smoothwall, two full-time Linux FaH rigs, and a well-spec'ed Media Center - all in the laundry room, on shelves under the basement stairs (even in the basement, that room started to get quite warm)):
Bathroom exhaust fan. Simple, and cheap. I simply mounted the fan high in the "data center", and ducted its exhaust lower in the wall (wanted to hide it a little...) It lowered the temps in there back to the basement's ambient temp (in other words, a good 10 degree drop.)
I'd imagine that mounting a bathroom fan in there wouldn't be too much of an issue; can you duct it out of the closet to someplace that's WAF friendly? If you can find a place to dump the air to, you're golden. It'll pull air in from wherever it can get it (like, thru the gaps around the door.)
