So I am thinking of going with a water cooling setup when I upgrade next, probably to AM3+. I have a pair of 4870 1GB in CF, and am planning on keeping them through one more upgrade. The question is whether I want to shell out $200 to fit them with water blocks. I haven't tried overclocking them on air yet, mostly because I don't need the performance and don't want the heat/noise. So does anyone have any experience overclocking 4870s on air and water? If I can overclock them really well on water I would strongly consider investing in it, otherwise I will skip it. So any overclock numbers of your experience with 4870s on air and water would greatly help me determine the worth of water blocks at this point.
