The X6's have 4 GHz+ potential, and most can hit at least 4. At least, this is the trend I've seen. YMMV.

Once Bulldozer comes out, most will not concern themselves with Phenom IIs anymore, unless you're limited by budget.

This may be the answer you're looking for:

It appears to be pretty OC'er friendly. Though I personally can't say for sure as I currently run Intel.

Very interesting, nothing to sneeze at. But will it run Prime95 set to extreme settings for 12+hours without a hiccup? And how much would be spent on cooling in order to achieve a stable 4.3+ghz overclock and keep the temps under 60c? The people who post at the MaximumPC forums whom I aimed this thread at would be more likely to do these things and report on their results in-depth than that site would. I do appreciate it though and it gives me an idea of just how far the chip can be pushed without much fuss, now to find the results of a stable overclock and a 12 hour run on some truly diabolical stress testing programs. Afterward:

- Average Temp/Max. Temp.
- Instability flags.
- Total Hours spent stress testing.
- etc...

I may just have to buy one myself and test it, but that will have to wait until too close to the bulldozer release. (I'm broke  ).

Don't forget the AMD hex cores overclock by themselves. It will go from 3.2 to 3.6 if the need arises.

Nasty

Turbo Core is fine and dandy, but if and when I get one, I want to get a lot more out of it than 400mhz over the stock speeds.
