I have a AMD 1090T cpu w/ corsair h50 as cooling solution, mobo is a biostar ta890gxb hd w/ ati 4200 built in. My case is antec midtower. My main use for the system is htpc & video encoding (all 6 cores will definitely work at max during pavtube or ripbot264).

Since this will be staying inside my room, what brand & model psu can you recommend, that is BOTH reliable, and ULTRA-quiet. How many watts of power (minimum) should I be looking for in a PSU.

Note: only other stuff included inside the case is a bd-rom drive, 4 sticks of 2gb ddr3's, and 1tb hd. Built-in video card is used.

Well I don't know how much you want to spend but the Seasonic X-series are the quietest you can buy and probably the best PSU brand. They are really overkill for your current power needs though but the fan rarely if ever turns on because of their excellent design.
