Hey guys, I have a year old GeForce 9400 gt 1GB card.

Link: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a ... 6814150370

I want to overclock it just to mess around.

The specs off of newegg are as follows (I'm away from it right now, so I can't give you what I have it at right now):

Core: 450MHz
Shader: 1400MHz
Effective memory: 800MHz

Looking in Rivera last night I was fairly sure that some of those values were lower than that...

Anyway, any ideas about how high I can max it, or if it's even safe?

Thanks

I would use EVGA Precision to overclock it.
It gives you nice info and clock and fan controls are simply sliders.
And yes, it'll work on non-EVGA cards.

Thanks, I already got it actually, but I'll look into the tool anyway.

It took a loooooooong time to get a reply so I just did it on my own, was afraid of killing it, but I used ATI tools, had that cool artifacts thing.

You received a reply to your question within a day .. if that is too loooooong for you, consider paying for proper tech support.

Wait what?

I thought I had checked on the thread during the weekend and no one had responded...

I must have not looked closely enough.

Sorry, didn't want to seem like a jerk. I thought it had been like 4-5 days though...
