Mother Board- Nforce 680i SLI
CPU-Intel core 2 e6600 2.4ghz fsb 1066
Video Card- PNY gefoce 260 gtx
Ram-4 gig kingston hyperX 1066mhz latency 5-5-5-15
Sound Card-Turtle Beach Montego
Power Supply- Antec 650 Watt. Not sure what series tho.

Well any ways I am having fun doing some stuff so far. I got my ram to 1066 threw bios and everything runs fine. Well I hope so cause they was made to go to 1066. I want to overclock my CPU cause people say I will see a decent gain in crysis fps. I know the cpu fan is not the stock one. Its a huge copper fan about the size of my fist. So I know how to go into bios and stuff just scared to mess with my cpu. What voltage should I put it at and whats a safe speed to overclock it to. Other thing I overclock my video card with rivatuner. I put fan up to 90 percent and increase 700MHz core speed and 1100MHz mem speed. At first they game will run at 25fps but after about 5 min it goes down to 10fps. I watch the core temp and does not get above 60c. So I know I have room to spare with temp. Than set everything back to default and restart and everything runs back to normal. If you guys could. Please help. I want to learn this stuff but scared to do some things specially to the cpu.

Here is the guide I started off with.. http://pc.ign.com/articles/747/747606p1.html I'm running a similar system as you. I just (yesterday) installed a Cooler Master N520 CPU cooler & a Creative SB X-Fi PCI-E card, I lapped both the E6600 & N520 up to 2000 grit. I used Arctic Silver 5 & my temps (at stock 2.4GHz) went from 33-35c idol w/the stock cooler to 26-29C w/the N520.
Remember.. Take baby steps when overclocking! Good Luck, Phil B.
