I'm awaiting somebody to come out with a mass storage style mp3 player. So I could simply upload raw mp3s and not use an intermarry program like Itunes which practically ruins the sharing ability of mp3s.

it already exists. they call it the IRIVER. i have a 20gb one and when you plug it into the usb port Windows finds a new 20gb HD and you can upload mp3's, WMA's, ect. not to mention it can function as a mass storage device. plus it has a color screen one of the nice 260k color ones (or whatever that really high number is that i cant think of now)

if you buy songs from itunes you cna put the song on an unlimited amount of ipods. if your stupid and have rhap[sody or napster or w/e then you cant. itunes is great. rip your cd's in lossless codec then download 128kbs mp3 for what you dont have a hard copy of and your set. i download a few songs a day so every night i plug my ipod in and itunes automatically updates as well as charges, theres nothing to hate about itunes and ipod unless of course you dont have one  . but as for the modding where the update at?! its been 13 days since you posted.

Marking, and cutting on the outside of the surface isnt a very good idea. At least tape it off first..
