This is my new keychain:

It is made out of an old e5200 which I burnt and has been lying around for the past 2 months. I saw a thread on another forum and it prompted me to do this.

Yeah, you really shouldn't take the word nerd as an insult, it should be a badge of honor. Personally, I would've just put it into a block of clear resin, like nvidia did w/their 8800 series gpu's. That reminds me, I still must has one!

Ya, resin is cool! I don't know how they suspend the stuff right though. I just think they pour a section, put the part in, then pour another part to wrap it up. An ex-employee would give out awards with cool parts stuffed in resin.

Oooh, resin.

I may just purchase a P4 CPU that I saw in a shop some time back and get a small box just large enough to make the resin.

I'm curious, though, how would you go about setting the CPU into the resin?

And as for the resin, how would one go about choosing the right kind of resin so that the CPU is shown off to great effect?

I'm thinking of purchasing a few CPUs and setting them in resin, THEN setting them up in my case... when I modify my case for the first time ever.

I think that'd be one of the coolest "stickers" that we usually get whenever we buy CPUs. You know the ones, "Intel inside" and such right?

A couple years ago, I had an old dead stick of EDO-RAM as a keychain. My nerd friends got a kick out of it. To everyone else, it just left no doubt about the state of my virginity.

I would still have it, but I don't have a need to carry keys anymore.

Cool mod though. Was going to do something similar with my S754 Sempron until I lost it. :x

I only ever had a house key and my car keys. I live with my girlfriend and her parents, and I only leave for work, so I don't need a house key, and I sold my car to a wrecking yard for $175 before Christmas. Next time you open up a can of soda/pop, feel free to have a moment of silence for my Grand Am.
