Yeah, that's total BS. You can't get enough heat from 500 mA to pop popcorn. And those lights?? Total farce.

500 ma time 5 volts = 2.5 watts, which is 8.5 BTU.

maybe if he left it running for about 8 months it could build up the heat to pop a kernel or two - and if the ambient air temp was 250 degrees to help it along :)

Ah, note the bulbs. I see two in parallel and they seem to be 2.5 Volt 300 mA bulbs.

Now I believe for a good Pop in Popcorn you need about 300 F. (about 150 C). I dunno, given 8 months with an ambient of 250 as you mention it may work. Assuming the popcorn doesn't get stale and dry out in which case it won't pop. :lol:

You have to admit they made it look good.
