I'm looking into buying an X-Box and modding it so i can not only play X-Box games but also set up a multimedia server via hard drive switch. So i wanna know if anyone has any chips they can reccommend. I've got plenty of sodering expirence so difficulty is not a problem, thanks.

I don't have anything I can personally recommend, but I recently got interested in XBox modding. You may find the following sites helpful:

I was reading 'Hacking the XBox' the other night at Borders. I would highly recommend giving it a read.

you sctually dont even need a modchip. There are software only exploits that used to be not as good as a modchip, but now the have really gotten better and are just as good as modchips (unless u want to play xboxlive). On xbox-scene look for font hacks and dashboard exploits.

and i have modded 10+ xboxes for people if u need someone to do it
