Hello all,

I am currently building a coffee table with an integrated PC, which will be used for, among other things, playing classic arcade games. It will run MEPIS 7.0, a linux distro based on Ubuntu. I have 2 questions:

1) Should I use a laptop I have lying around, or some old PC parts I scrounged?

Laptop = 800 Mhz CPU, 256 MB RAM, AMD Integrated Graphics

Scrounged Parts = 400 Mhz CPU, 128 MB RAM, ATI Integrated Graphics

(Either Way, the table will have WI-FI, a 40 GB Harddrive, and a 15 inch display)

2) How do I stop people from spilling coffee on the electronics? Plexiglass?

*BUMP*

Update:

MEPIS refused to install on both hardware configs, so I am now trying Xubuntu.

If you were wondering, the reason that I wanted advice on the hardware is beacuse I think the notebook may be better suited as a PVR / media dstreamer, with it's TV output and super-quiet operation. Also, shoving a laptop and an old monitor into a coffeetable isn't very modder-like...
