These thread could go somewhere later, plus I am interested in 5 minute mods.

Re-Wire case - Hide wires in any spots you can to improve airflow, temperatures, and looks

Install random fans - I had a HDD cooler with a case that didn't support it.. That didn't stop me!! You can use double sided tape and put a quiet fan on the HD rack decreasing temperatures

Remove LED's - Some people like LED's, including me, but leaving my PC on overnight to Fold is quite annoying, I randomly wake up to see a huge blue light in my room...

These may be obvious, but the only reason for posting is to get this thread back up

I was proud of a small mod I made...

If you have countless swtiches for fans and cold-cathode lights coming out the back of of your box like I did, use (if you have front ports) one of the empty front ports (firewire works well if you're not using it), go to radio-shack and pick up some small slide swtiches and quick-connects (a wonderful 3M product() and mount the smaller switches inside the hole. Gut the wires and strip the and use the quick sonnects to hook them up to the switches! and BINGO, no more unsightly wires hanging out of your case. You can use a dremel to cut small notches in the back if you have multiple wires you need to hide.

These are nice ideas man. I really don't think i will try the heatsink thing though. I cut out the mesh in the front of my case to increase airflow a week ago. It really did help airflow and ran a test with a simple piece of paper to see if it was able to hold the paper this time around(it did). A quick fix i also did was adding alittle thermal compound (arctic silver) which helped cooling. I recently rearranged all wires to stay out of the way of all airflow and this helped very much so. You can buy rounded cables for ata and cdrom drive hookups. Air flows much easier around round tubbing opposed to ribbon. Another neat idea i had was instead of buying that padding which cuts down on noise. I decided to use some of that egg cartain shaped padding from a package i received. Adds a very nice look and can hide wires underneath. This really also cut down on sound.
