Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, but I was not sure which one to place it under.

I have three old computers that are in working condition but doing nothing other than collecting dust.

So my question for you all is, what should I do with them?

Depends on what their specs are really, as well as your prior experience. Theoretical possibilites are endless.

Folding
Donate them
Sell them
Use them as a testbed for new and/or beta software
Use them to become aquainted with Linux
Convert one to an HTPC
Learn overclocking on one
Save one as a backup PC
Use one as a troubleshooting PC
Since it's in this folder, mod them

Good idea - old machines with new drives can make great data servers.

Buy a TV tuner and use them as a better TiVo-esque machine.

it depends on the specs....i would use one just to mess around..maybe try to overclock it squezze every once of juice out of it...
you can use one for a tivo like system...or build an arcade machine...wich is actually my next project...so you can follow me as i go along...

Hey folks, thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look at the system specs tomorrow and post them to help out with this.

Question, what is necissary for creating a Server (something I have never done)?

Donate them. The call ARC or some other charity. As long as they work they should take them and give you a tax reciept.

Or you can fold@home or Seti@home with them - they would work for that as well.

The drives are to small for a data server.
