My thoughts:
First, that is a good little article. I'd almost like to make a poll to see if this has happened to anyone. I only have built 2 systems with CCT's, and have not ran into this, but I know it's completely possible. After reading that and hearing more and more of this happening, I'm honostly thinking about ripping them out. Which also brings up...
...my lack of even liking them anymore. They had their time, and I'm hoping it's over soon. I put a sound activated blue one in a rig about 2 years ago just to see what all the fuss was about. Well, the sound part being annoying as all get-out aside, I hardly have it on anyway. My second one was just to get a UV thing going on, but again leave it off anyway.
I don't like my PC's to glow anymore, and probably have felt that way for about a year. The "bling" phase hit the scenes and quickly made me feel sick to my stomach even seeing an LED or CCT. It's all been done now, and just hope we, as a whole, can start building more tasteful PC's without having to add strobe lights to get attention. I'm feeling more, ummm, "classy" in my old age
Seeing CCT's now just reminds me of the cars that had them tucked in their frames over 10 years ago...then the fad hit and I ran out of insults to throw at these things. That they're still around leads me to wonder "why?". It's not original by any means, and I'd rather have a machine that speaks for itself (I'll try to not talk about "posing"). But it still translates to my feelings in PC modding. It's been done. If I want to stand out, it's going to take more than a $9 rod of light.
Now that they're blowing up, it should help in getting rid of themselves. Darwin must be dabbling in electronics these days
